The primary requirement for admission to the TROSA program is that the individual must have a substance use disorder and desire a long-term residential treatment program. TROSA is a voluntary program and we require that the individual seeking admission must call or write to us directly and participate in a telephone interview.

While we welcome phone calls from family members and friends to learn more, TROSA is a voluntary program and it is important that the individual seeking treatment begins the recovery process by calling for themself.

If you are on probation, please read below:

If you are currently on probation or parole in another state and wish to move to North Carolina to participate in TROSA; you must qualify for transfer to North Carolina per the ICAOS Rules and have resident family in North Carolina willing to support and sponsor you. Resident family per the ICAOS rules are defined as mother, father, sister, brother, grandmother, grandfather, adult child, aunt, and uncle. Proof of the relationship will be needed. The sponsor will be contacted to verify their agreement to sponsor you.

You cannot attend the program until you have been accepted by North Carolina through the Interstate transfer process and have received reporting instructions from the Probation Officer even if you have been accepted by the TROSA program. There is no guarantee that you will be admitted to TROSA if you are transferring your supervision from another state nor is there a guarantee you will be approved to transfer your supervision to North Carolina if you are accepted into TROSA.
